I am a teacher. I will fill the minds and hearts of children today and for many days after they are my pupils. I will fill them with love and hope. I will pour ambition, inspiration, and confidence into their minds. I will teach them how to think critically and to problem- solve. I will give them strategies that can be universally applied. I will show them how to tackle tough questions and situations. I will show them how to find answers and to question everything. I will do this through curriculum. This is my medium, my art form is teaching. My creations, my masterpieces, will be the thoughts, the confidence, and the reflections that your child will harbor and foster in their minds. So much takes place in these halls and within these walls. There is laughter, there is frustration, there is growth, and self-realization.. There is commitment and perseverance.
Thank you for sharing these moments with me and for this great responsibility I am tasked with. It is so important to me. Thank you for this child and for trusting me. I will cherish their hearts and their minds. I will plant seeds that will sprout quickly and I will plant seeds that may rest for many years. They will all grow.

In the end it is not important what you think. It is only important what you do. DO not sit around talking about what you should do or what should be done. Do not complacently, idly tell others what you might do if given the opportunity or a different lot in life. Do not say, "let me know if I Can help" or if you do say this, own the fact that you are essentially saying, I will help but only if you ask me personally and specifically. (Doesn't that sound different? It isn't.) GET UP! RISE UP!
TAKE ACTION! Waiting around for things to happen or for change to occur yields little result. Do not expect happiness, fortune, acknowledgement, or results without work and effort on your behalf. You choose your path. Make the choices that result in the desired happiness, fortune, acknowledgment, and goals. Invest for fortune. Invest in your health. Invest in your personal growth. It is a simple concept that everyone is capable of. No exceptions. Mothers of grown or older boys- please comfort me. Teenage manners and awkwardness aren't how they will always be, right? As in, my son misses his mouth... a LOT. There is food all over his table setting---- liquid rolled from his cup today as though he had no bottom lip. The cup just didn't work right for him...... PLEASE tell me this a part of teenage development that is a result of rapid physical growth and frontal lobe disparity. Smh, the look on my face sent him into a tail-spin rant. I can control my mouth but lawd, he cried as though I beat him but I had not said a word. Apparently my looks say errything and words are no longer needed. 😎😤
